Beside the Chinese wok stir-fry, we also like use oven to bake or roast. For example, this roasted fava beans is a simple yet incredibly flavorful oven dish.

🥢 Simple Steps:
- Start by blanching the prepared fava beans in boiling water for 1–2 minutes.
- Drain and marinate them with a bit of salt and freshly ground black pepper for about 30–40 minutes.
- Prepare a chili garlic sauce: we usually use our homemade chili oil mixed with crushed garlic. If you don’t have chili oil on hand, you can use olive oil with chili flakes (or powder) and minced garlic instead.
- Spread the marinated fava beans onto a baking tray. Gently press some of them with the back of a spoon, which creates a nice crumbly texture after roasting.
- While preheating the oven (210°C / 410°F), drizzle the chili garlic sauce over the beans and sprinkle a bit of grated cheese on top.
- Roast for about 30 minutes, until you smell the irresistible aroma of garlic. Time to take them out and enjoy!

It goes well with rice as it does with bread — and trust me, you’ll scrape up every last bit of that flavorful fava bean mash from the bottom of the pan.
Yes, it’s also perfect for vegetarians.
